Help, I’m stuck with the hated “E” word!

Editing! I’ve been struggling the past few months with my writing. I have three manuscripts I am currently working on. I’m writing the rough draft on and the other I’m editing. Still!

How do I stop taking laps and just finish it? I enjoy creating new worlds, characters, and plots. However, I do not like editing. I know I have to finish the editing before I move on to my next project. Right? Or...is there another way? Can I do both?

Would a plan or a schedule help me?
Hmm. After thinking about it, I decide I will edit my current story one and a half hours in the morning. Then I’ll work on one of my new stories an hour. After lunch, I’ll edit for an hour and a half, then write new material for an hour. Let’s see, that’s five hours a day. Then add in breakfast, lunch, some research or studying, and fix dinner. That’s a full day.

If I follow my plan five days a week, I could have the entire book edited by the end of March 2015!

I think I like this plan, even though I’m editing most of my day, I get a chance to do what I really enjoy. Why haven’t I thought of this sooner?

Now, comes the hard part, sticking to it!

Do you like editing? If you’re like me and you don’t, how do you get beyond it?
