What makes a good book? I’m not talking personal preference such as the different genres. What makes one book a page turner while another collects dust long before it’s finished, if it ever is. As a new writer, this is a question I have been trying to answer.
In my own reading, I like books that have a different plot from the rest of the pack. I like vampire books; however, I am tired of reading about the main character that is human. She meets a vampire while in school and they fall madly in love.
I do like characters that are believable, even if they are elves or vampires. I want to read about characters that I can care about, want to make certain they solve their problems and live happily ever after. I also really like detestable bad guys. They are so evil and mean, but have a soft spot for their...cat or....
