Work in Progress
Christian fantasy is a fun way of showing the truth about God's love for each of us.
The world of make-believe has always fascinated me. I have been to Mars, Middle Earth, London, Japan, Africa, New Orleans, Hawaii, and many other locations in books. But in those books, I have seen more than the regular tourists sites.
I have seen magic, aliens, trolls, vampires, werewolves, and many other beings. Our imagination is a great gift that we can use to entertain and encourage ourselves and others.
That is especially true with Christian fantasy. Unknown characters, strange locations, unusual circumstances and animals woven into a place that takes us away from our world and its problems. In this new place, we watch as someone else resolves their issues. It may be anything from slaying a dragon who wants them for dinner, to convincing an animal to help them beat an evil ruler. No matter what the problem is, they have to find the answer, and, since it is a fantasy, they can search for answers in different ways and places than we do.
Christians have problems just like everyone else, except we have an all-powerful and loving God on our side. He wants to help us. We can either let Him or push Him away. If we are willing to
allow Him to take the driver’s seat, then we can sit back and watch the world and our problem go by or watch as He helps us grow through it.
